What Equipment Do You Need?
Personal Floatation Device (PFD)
A Personal Flotation Device (PFD), or also known as a \"life jacket", is required to participate in dragon boating. Members can bring their own PFDs or can borrow from the LDBS.

When you choose to buy your own, you will want to look for PFDs designed for kayakers.

What to wear:
-
Dress for the weather, in layers
-
Clothing should be lightweight and easy to move in. You will get wet, so quick drying fabric is preferable (jeans are not!)
-
Wear shoes that are non-skid and that can get wet. Flip flops are not suitable.
What to bring:
-
A hat and/or sunglasses
-
Sunscreen
-
Water bottle (full)
Paddles
Members can bring their own paddles or can borrow from the LDBS.

When you are ready to buy your first paddle, you can opt for an inexpensive wooden one or a lighter competition paddles.

Take Note: Dragon boat paddles are unique - they are not the same as canoe paddles
